Story Behind Chikara Lifestyle

Chikara Lifestyle was originally started as an online retailer of trendy fashion accessories and clothing. However, this was not my full vision. I am super artistic and this online boutique did not fully cultivate my creative abilities. Then, during the holidays, I thought of unique gifts to give family and decided to design hand painted denim jackets. Denim is such a timeless and durable fabric that never goes out of style...like EVER! My family raved over the jackets and many others asked for their own designs. As a result, Chikara Lifestyle was revamped to offer unique denim pieces as personalized walking billboards. To cultivate my artistic ability further, I started experimenting with polymer clay and designing statement pieces to go along with these custom jackets.

The name Chikara is the Japanese word meaning power, strength or influence. I come from a Japanese background, so choosing a name with such roots is only right. I believe what you wear has transformative power allowing you to express your personality in different ways. There is a sense of strength and confidence that you feel when you put on your best threads.
